Port times are subject to change. Always check your daily Cruise Compass onboard for the latest schedule.

Embarkation Day — Getting Onboard

Saturday, October 2, 2027 • Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale

Getting to Port Everglades
  • Terminal 18 is Royal Caribbean's main terminal at Port Everglades
  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is only 4–5 miles away — about 10–15 min by rideshare ($15–22) or taxi (~$18–21)
  • Flying into Miami (MIA)? Plan for a 45–60 min transfer ($40–60 rideshare)
  • Brightline train connects Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando — a great low-stress option
  • 🚗 Parking: Palm Garage — $20/day for cars, $25/day for oversized vehicles. No reservations needed.
Before You Arrive — Online Check-In
  • Complete online check-in via the Royal Caribbean app up to 45 days before sailing
  • Check-in closes 48 hours before departure — don't miss it!
  • Download your SetSail Pass (your boarding pass) to the app before you arrive — cell service at the terminal is poor
  • Select your port arrival time — earlier slots go fast, so check in as soon as it opens
  • Input your travel documents and credit card for onboard purchases during check-in
At the Terminal
  • Drop luggage curbside with porters (tip $2–3 per bag) — bags will be delivered to your cabin later that afternoon
  • Carry a small bag with: swimsuit, sunscreen, medications, valuables, and anything you need for the first few hours
  • Suite guests and Crown & Anchor loyalty members have priority check-in lanes
  • Facial recognition technology speeds up boarding — just look at the camera!
  • Cabins are typically ready by 1:00–2:00 PM — head to the Windjammer buffet or pool deck while you wait
Ship Departs at 4:00 PM
  • Be back onboard at least 30 minutes before departure
  • Don't miss the sailaway party on the pool deck — it's a tradition!
  • Muster drill (safety briefing) is required — complete it via the Royal Caribbean app before or shortly after boarding
Disembarkation — Getting Off the Ship

Sunday, October 10, 2027 • Ship Arrives 6:00 AM

The Night Before
  • Set your packed luggage outside your cabin door by 10:00 PM the night before — it will be collected and waiting for you in the terminal
  • Keep a carry-on with: next-day clothes, toiletries, medications, valuables, travel documents, and anything you need overnight
  • Your SeaPass account will be settled automatically to the credit card on file — review your final bill on the TV or Royal Caribbean app the night before
  • If you have any billing disputes, visit Guest Services before the last night
Disembarkation Morning
  • Ship arrives at 6:00 AM — you do NOT need to rush off immediately
  • Self-disembarkation (carry all your own bags): earliest option, typically starts around 6:30–7:00 AM
  • Assigned disembarkation: You'll receive a color-coded luggage tag and a time slot — most guests are off by 9:30–10:00 AM
  • Suite guests and Crown & Anchor Pinnacle/Diamond Plus members have priority disembarkation
  • Enjoy breakfast in the Windjammer or Main Dining Room while you wait for your group to be called
Customs & Immigration
  • All guests must clear U.S. Customs — have your passport or travel documents ready
  • The process is generally quick with facial recognition technology
  • Do NOT leave the terminal area until you have all your luggage
Getting Home from Port Everglades
  • Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): $15–22 to FLL airport
  • Taxi: ~$18–21 flat rate to FLL
  • Brightline train: Fort Lauderdale station is a short rideshare from the port
Travel Documents You'll Need

Don't get denied boarding — know what to bring!

Port Guide: Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic

Day 6 — Thursday, October 7 • Docked 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

🌍 About Cabo Rojo

Cabo Rojo is a remote port on the southwestern tip of the Dominican Republic, far from the tourist crowds of Punta Cana or Santo Domingo. The area is known for its pristine, undeveloped beaches, salt flats, and rugged natural beauty. Because so few cruise ships visit, it feels like a true off-the-beaten-path discovery. The nearby town of Pedernales is small and authentic.

Currency: Dominican Peso (DOP) — U.S. dollars accepted at most tourist spots
Language: Spanish (limited English spoken — bring a translation app!)
Time Zone: AST (UTC-4) — same as ship time

🗺️ Getting Around
  • The ship docks at a commercial port — you'll need transportation to explore
  • Ship-organized excursions are the most convenient option here
  • Taxis and local guides are available at the pier
  • Independent exploration is possible but more challenging than other ports — this is a remote area
🏖️ Top Things to Do

Bahía de las Águilas (Bay of Eagles) — One of the most beautiful and remote beaches in the Caribbean. Pristine white sand, crystal-clear water, and almost no development. Accessible by boat or 4x4.

Jaragua National Park — One of the largest national parks in the Caribbean, home to flamingos, iguanas, and diverse wildlife

Salt Flats (Salinas) — Unique pink-hued salt flats near the coast — a striking natural phenomenon

Local Beach Day — Simply relax on the unspoiled beaches near the port

Snorkeling & Diving — The waters around Cabo Rojo are pristine and largely unexplored

First-Timer Tips & Must-Knows

Everything a first-time cruiser needs to know before sailing on Allure of the Seas

💳 The SeaPass Card — Your Key to Everything
  • Your SeaPass card is your room key, boarding pass, and onboard credit card all in one
  • Every purchase onboard is charged to your SeaPass account — no cash needed on the ship
  • Link a credit card during online check-in to settle your account automatically at the end of the cruise
  • You can also use a cash deposit at Guest Services
  • Keep your SeaPass card with you at all times — you'll need it to get on and off the ship at every port
📱 The Royal Caribbean App
  • Download the Royal Caribbean app before you sail — it's essential!
  • Use it to: check in online, view your daily schedule (Cruise Compass), make dining and show reservations, chat with other guests on the ship (free, no WiFi needed), check your onboard account balance, and more
  • The app works on the ship's internal network — no WiFi package needed for basic features
💰 Gratuities (Service Charges)
  • Daily gratuities are automatically added to your SeaPass account: ~$18–20/person/day for standard cabins, ~$21–23/person/day for suites
  • This covers your cabin steward, dining room staff, and other service crew
  • You can pre-pay gratuities before sailing (often cheaper) or let them be charged daily
  • Additional tips for exceptional service are always appreciated but never required
🌊 Sea Sickness
  • The Allure of the Seas is massive — you'll barely feel the ocean on most days
  • October in the Southern Caribbean is generally calm, but seas can occasionally be rough
  • If prone to motion sickness: bring Dramamine or Bonine, use Sea-Bands (acupressure wristbands), or ask the ship's medical center for a prescription patch
  • The center of the ship on lower decks has the least motion
🌡️ What to Pack

🔑 Other Must-Know Tips

  • Check your Cruise Compass every evening for the next day's activities and events
  • The Royal Promenade is the heart of the ship — great for people-watching, shopping, and events
  • Bring a small backpack or day bag for port days
